Mobile App - myMap

Job Discovery App for Recent Graduates

Client: myMap
Role: Lead Product Designer (UI/UX & Visual Design)
Tools: Adobe XD, Photoshop, stakeholder collaboration
Platform: Mobile App
Scope: End-to-end design—from user flows and wireframes to final UI and design system

Project Overview

myMap is a mobile app that helps recent graduates confidently find and apply for jobs. Users can create personalized profiles, explore curated job listings, and apply directly within the app.

As the sole product designer, I led the end-to-end design process— from defining flows and layouts to delivering a polished, scalable design system. Working closely with stakeholders, I ensured that the product aligned with both business objectives and user needs, creating a supportive and intuitive experience for first-time job seekers.

Project Goals

  • Help graduates build strong, appealing profiles with minimal effort
  • Make job discovery intuitive and personalized
  • Simplify the application process from start to finish
  • Deliver a clean, friendly, and modern mobile experience
  • Establish a scalable design system for future features

Design Approach

Stakeholder-Driven Planning

Collaborated with the marketing and product teams to define user pain points and business goals, ensuring all design decisions supported both user success and strategic outcomes.

User-Centered Flows

Mapped user journeys around the specific challenges of first-time job seekers—lack of work experience, uncertainty about next steps, and application anxiety—to create a reassuring, step-by-step experience.

Mobile-First UX

Prioritized clarity, accessibility, and usability on small screens through intuitive layouts, large tap targets, and minimal friction across all screens.

Modular Design System

Developed reusable, scalable components—profile cards, job listings, filters, and status indicators—ensuring design consistency and easy future expansion.

Wireframes & Layout Planning

I created low- to mid-fidelity wireframes in Adobe XD to establish the app’s structure, navigation, and core flows.

These wireframes helped visualize how users would:

  • Register or sign in
  • Create and edit their profiles
  • Search and apply for jobs

The process enabled early stakeholder validation, rapid feedback, and iteration before moving into visual design.

Outcome & Reflection

The redesign was well received by stakeholders, praised for its simplicity, clarity, and strong alignment with the needs of recent graduates. The project produced a complete, scalable UI system ready for development and future iterations.

This experience strengthened my ability to:

  • Translate user and business goals into intuitive mobile UX
  • Design with empathy for first-time job seekers
  • Build cohesive, reusable visual systems that support growth

Although formal user interviews weren’t conducted, I leveraged detailed personas and stakeholder feedback to shape a supportive experience for young users entering the job market.

Moving forward, I look forward to validating these design solutions through usability testing and real user feedback to further refine the product experience.
